Cornelis “Case” Pols, age 71, of Dorr, died Saturday, Jan. 23, under the care of his family and Faith Hospice.
Case was born on Sept. 22, 1944 in Hoffdorp, Netherlands. He served in the United States Coast Guard and enjoyed woodworking and kayaking. He retired from P.C.I. of Michigan where he worked as a plumbing and mechanical inspector.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy and his children, Michele (Bryan) VanSoelen, Pam (Ron) Haveman, and Mike (Deb) Pols; precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Jerry (Sally) Pols; sisters, Lia (Mario) Padilla, Femmy (Charles) Allen, Jo (Rogelio) Troche’; sister-in-law, Cyndi (Ken) Dalga; and his loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerrit and Gerry Pols; his in-laws, Don and Dorothy Vriesenga; his sister-in-law, Susan Moorehead; and his daughter-in-law, Tanya Pols.
A time for relatives and friends to visit with Case’s family will be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services in Dorr, 4330 18th Ave. Pastor Cedric Parsels will lead the service to celebrate Case’s life at Dorr Christian Reformed Church, 4220 18th Ave. at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Jones Cemetery in Dorr Township.
In honor of Case, contributions may be made to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital – Pediatric Oncology or Project Hope.
