Gordon Sterken, age 81, died Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Gordon loved the Lord, his family, his Bible study group, coffee buddies, golf, fishing, and his Florida home in the winter. His favorite saying was, “That’s alright”. He loved to joke with people.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Judy Sterken; children, Todd Sterken, Terry (Patty) Sterken; grandchildren, Todd Sterken Jr., Journey Ann Sterken; siblings, Norman (Leona) Sterken, Karen Dawn Graham; in-laws, Marv (Marlene) Veldhouse, Garry (Betty) Veldhouse, Jerie Veldhouse, Sharon (Jack) Vandenberg, Norman (Sandy) Veldhouse, Roger (Sue) Veldhouse, Donna (Larry) Terrell, Sandy (Bruce) Lutz; many loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daryl and Dena Sterken; in-laws, George and Tena Veldhouse; brother-in-law, Howard Veldhouse.

Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at Gun Lake Community Church, 12200 W M-179 Hwy. Memorial service will be held there at 11 a.m. Monday, with Pastor Dan Byer officiating.

In honor of Gordon, contributions may be made to Gun Lake Community Church or Mel Trotter Ministries.
