Gordon R. Wells, age 82, died Wednesday, April 17.

Gordon was born May 4, 1941, in Marion, Mich. He graduated from Lansing Sexton High School. He loved to sing in a choral group that got together for many years.

He graduated from M.S.U, and soon after went into working in insurance. He served on the Chamber of Commerce in Grand Ledge for 30 years as treasurer. He served on the Yankee Springs Township Planning Commission and Board of Appeals for more than 30 year and was treasurer of the local Lions Club. He also loved Gun Lake Community Church, where he served as an elder.

In his “free time” he volunteered at Pennock Hospital, played euchre with friends. He loved reading books — many, many books — from Wheeler Public Library in Martin. He enjoyed being outside taking care of his lawn.

Gordon is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sandra and his daughters Diandra (Jeff) Feddema and Danelle Fox.

The funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, April 22, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St., Wayland.
