Dale Robert Berkompas, age 40, of Dorr, died Tuesday, June 16.

Dale loved his family, camping, woodworking and helping others.

He is survived by his wife of almost 17 years, Diane; his children, Marcus and Makayla; mother, Julia Berkompas; brothers and sisters, Bruce (Jane) Berkompas, Linda (Doug) Kellar, Wayne Berkompas, Brian (Lisa) Berkompas, Kathy (Jeff) Borowski, Carla (Greg) Nagel; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger and Faith Miedema; grandmother, Rica Houseman; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dawn (Rick) Oosterheert, Debra (Chris) Penning, Jennifer Clark, Matt Miedema, Tony (Amber) Miedema; many nieces and nephews.

His father, Edward Berkompas, sister, Evelyn, and sister-in-law, Amy Berkompas, preceded him in death.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. S.E. Grand Rapids. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Princeton Christian Reformed Church, 5330 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, with Rev. David Poolman officiating. Interment in Jones Cemetery.

Contributions in memory of Dale may be made to his children’s tuition fund at Moline Christian School.
