Janice Kay (Pollie) Haralson, age 76, died Monday, April 15.

Janice obtained her master’s degree in education and went on to teach for more than 20 years at Grand Rapids’ Public Schools. In her spare time, she enjoyed music, specifically playing the piano, being outdoors and ice-skating. She also enjoyed traveling and going on camping trips with her family. But above and beyond everything else, she loved to take photographs

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Hosea Haralson Sr.; children, Hosea (Stephanie) Haralson Jr., John (Sydney) Haralson; grandchildren Alvertus, Demond, Brayden, Carissa, Brooklyn, Phoenix, Isaiah, Tatum, Willow; brother, Curtis (Marcia) Pollie and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Bea Pollie; step-daughter, Darlene Haralson; granddaughters Phoebe and Isabella.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home – Dorr Chapel, 4330 18th St., with visitation from noon to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service.

In memory of Janice and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
