Wayne Jack Stoffers, Jr., 62, of Hopkins, died Wednesday, May 10, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital.
Born July 5, 1954, in Grand Rapids, he was the son of Wayne Jack Stoffers, Sr. and was the husband of Wanda K. Vert Stoffers.
Mr. Stoffers had retired from Caraustar Custom Packaging, formerly PCA and Tenneco, after 41 years of employment and was a member of the GCC/IBT District Council Local 555-S Union. He was also a member of Friendship Bible Church. Mr. Stoffers was a proud grandfather whose grandchildren meant the world to him.
Along with his father and his wife of more than 41 years, Mr. Stoffers is survived by his stepfather, Frank Wanegeshik; stepmother, Joyce Stoffers; children, Katherine Millan, Rebecca Miller and husband Ronald, and Nickee Hendricks and husband Jeremy; grandchildren, Ron and Brittany Millan, Cherokee Stoffers, and James and Matthew Miller; great-grandson, Skyler Stoffers; brother, Leonard McGuire and wife Laura; sisters, Kathy Stoutmeyer, Kristine Colligan, Amy Kennedy and husband Patrick, Elaine Stoffers, Kay Stoffers, Etta Stoffers and Karen Veltman and husband Scott; and his very special friend and “mom”, Sandra Carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Stoffers; and his stepmother, Millie Wanegeshik.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 16,at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. A memorial service will take place at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17.
