Louis Edmond Peets, age 85, of Wayland, died Monday, Sept. 26.
Louis served his country in the United States Army National Guard Reserves. He later worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation for 44 years
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Willo Peets; children Robin (Ken) Stoken, Karen (Jim) Swainston, Louis Peets, Mark (Michele) Peets, Frank (Laura) Peets, Brian (Amanda) Peets; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Amelia Peets, and his sisters, Dell, Alice, Shirley and Bea.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home – Wayland Chapel (312 N. Main St.), with prayers of the Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 128 Cedar St., Wayland. Louis will be laid to rest at Hooker Cemetery in Leighton Township.
In memory of Louis and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Therese Catholic Church.
What a wonderful caring Man. Spent most of his life caring and helping others. Our hearts and prayers go out to the entire family. He sure will be missed. Grace and Dennis.
