Funeral mass will be Friday for Leola Peters, 94, of Dorr

Leola Agnes Peters, age 94, died Monday, May 1, at her at home in Dorr.

Leola loved to crochet, listen to polka-pops, and spend time with her family. She was a devoted Catholic and cherished her faith.

She is survived by her children Donald (Paula) Peters, Russell (Mary) Peters, James Peters, Diana Peters, Bradley Peters, Brenda (Patrick) Gensler; 24 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren; siblings Arlene DeLange, Delbert Steffes, Clifford (Barb) Steffes, Linda Belknap, Michelle (Rick) VanKampen; sister-in-law, Linda Steffes; and many extended family, relatives, and friends, and her devoted caregiver, Sue Snyder.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Russell Peters; children Kathleen Adams, Joseph Peters; granddaughter, Amanda Peters; siblings Marie Beck, Angela Young, Donald Steffes, Marge Bouwman, Joseph Steffes; stepsister, Kay Bright; and parents Joseph and Stella Steffes.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Kubiak-Cook, 4330 18th St., Dorr, with prayers of the Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 5, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave. SW, Byron Center. Leola will be laid to rest next to Russell at Resurrection Cemetery in Wyoming.

In memory of Leola and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Sebastian Catholic Church. T
