Raymond Andrew Brand, 62, of Allegan, died Wednesday, March 17, at his home. He was 62.

Born May 10, 1958, in Wayne, MI, he was the son of the late Rosual Andrew and Josephine Irene (Kuhl) Brand and was the husband of Laurie (Sprague) Brand.

Raymond was a dedicated, hard-working man. He loved to spend time outdoors, especially fishing, when he was not at work. He also liked to spend time at the casino and watching NASCAR races.

Raymond was very adventurous and enjoyed traveling. Oftentimes he did not know where he wanted to go, so he flipped a coin and hit the road.

Above all else, he found his greatest joy when he was spending time with his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life.

Besides his wife, Laurie, Raymond is survived by his children, Mike (Lacie) Moreau, Daniel Jacobusse (Claire Hoeberling), Rose Hinmon and Raymond (Jennifer) Brand, II; siblings, Dorothy Brand-Matthews, Joann (Wayne) Carpenter, William (Carol) Brand and Thomas (Martha) Brand; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 21. A funeral will take place at Hopkins Community Church Monday, March 22, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Bradley Indian Mission Cemetery.
