Milt Van Duine, agphoto_20160906_WM0076232_0_20160906e 85 of Dorr, died Tuesday, Sept. 6,at Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods.
Milt was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, was a life member of the VFW Wayland Post, and was the 1st Commander at Dorr American Legion, where he served on the honor guard. He has built over 50 homes in Dorr, and enjoyed wood working and making furniture. Milt loved hunting and fishing with the boys and traveling in his motor home around FL and TX for 10 years. He is survived by his wife and caretaker Doreen; celebrating 62 years of marriage Aug. 28; his children: Lynnette (Scott) Gallegos, Juane (Janice) Van Duine, Michele (Patrick) Schrager, and Alann (Bobbie) Van Duine; his grandchildren: David and Maraissa Van Duine, Rachael and Travis Marston, Ashley Post and Zach Muskin, Trenton Van Duine, Haley Schrager, and Ryleigh Van Duine; his great-grandchildren: Jacob and Julianne Van Duine, Alivia and Sophia Marston; several nieces and nephews, and dear friends Norm and Shirley DeVries and Paul and Sharon Spielmaker.
Friends may visit with Milt’s family from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, Dorr. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Dorr with Pastor Stephen Otto officiating. Interment with military honors at Dorr Cemetery will follow.
Donations in memory of Milt may be made to Faith Hospice of Trillium Woods or Parkinson’s Association of West Michigan.
