Funeral Saturday at local church for Harold Lenz

Harold William Lenz, age 95, died Wednesday, June 21, after a brief illness.

Harold was born March 31, 1928, in Grandville to William and Elsie Lenz. He married Norma Jean Lewis on Nov 1, 1952,and they enjoyed many loving years until her passing in 2016. The couple made their home in Wayland and Harold worked as a farmer with his father until 1965. Harold enjoyed traveling and singing in the Wayland United Methodist Church choir in many performances.

Harold is survived by his daughters, Christine Walle (David Nicks) of Pullman, Judy (Donald) Graham of Norton Shores, Karen (Treyton) Hiemstra of Wayland; sister, Sharon Smoes; brother, Ronald (June) Lenz; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who will fondly remember him as a loving, generous, and kind man.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; parents; and sibling, Margaret Lenz.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 30, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St., Wayland. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, at Wayland United Methodist Church, 200 Church St., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Luncheon will follow. Interment will take place at Dorr Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or a charity of your choice.
