Robert Weick of Shelbyville died Saturday, Dec. 28, at American House Assisted Living in Jenison. He was 89.

Born June 15, 1930, in Allegan, he was the son of the late Frederick Jacob and Maude Mae (Dendel) Weick and the husband of the late Ruth Ann (Schumaker)Weick.

Mr. Weick was a member of Shelbyville United Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman and loved to go hunting at the family cabin. He was proud of his registered Holsteins and enjoyed selling his homegrown fruits and visiting with friends at the area farmers markets.

He is survived by his children, Dan (Mickey Cerajewski) Weick, Debra (the late Jim) Brenner, Thomas (Jill Martin) Weick and Nancy (Russell) Compagner; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald, Vernon and Melbourne “Meb.”

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. The ervice will take place at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, with burial in Poplar Hill Cemetery.
