Funeral Saturday for WHS grad Margaret Arndt, 58

Margaret Irene (Henry) Arndt, 58, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Ascension Borgess Hospital.

Born Aug. 5, 1963, in Allegan, she was the daughter of Norma (Kent) Knowlton and the late Laverne Henry. Margaret was a graduate of Wayland High School.

She was the morning cook at Russo’s in Hopkins for many years where she was known to whip up a mean omelet. In her spare time, Margaret enjoyed playing cards, putting together puzzles and adding to her extensive frog collection.

Besides her mother, Norma, she is survived by her stepfather, Bob Knowlton; sons, Scott Arndt and Andrew (Alyssia) Arndt; siblings, Wendy (Joe) Adrianson, Benjamin Henry and Jeremy (Tiffany) Henry; grandchildren, Parker, Myla Rose and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret also was preceded in death by her son, James Henry, in 1999.

Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, Oct. 2, at Hopkins Community Church from 11 a.m. to noon, at which time a celebration of Margaret’s life will take place with luncheon to follow at the church.
