Eugene “Gene” Cook, age 89 of Hopkins, died Friday, Sept. 27.

Gene served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Cook, and grandson, Richard Talsma.

He is survived by wife of 66 years Marie; their children Mark (Jac-ee) Cook, Larry (Ruth) Cook, Lewis (Debra) Cook, Don (Tonya) Cook, Doug Cook and Patty (Russ) Vos; daughter-in-law Therese Cook; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; his sisters, Pauline (Bud) McCurdy, Darlene (Harold) Bosheares, Delores (Denny) Diekevers; sister-in-law Grace Thorpe and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 12 pm Friday, Oct. 4, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 Main St., Wayland, with a time to visit with family one hour prior to services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospices.
