Merle Shoemaker, age 82, of Dorr, died Sunday, Dec. 16.

Merle retired from Keeler Brass after 40 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and bowler.

He is survived by his children, Robin (Gary) Scheib, Vicki (Greg) Graczyk, Valerie Beuschel, Rita (John) Arce, Merle (Barb) Shoemaker; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Ann (Rex) Judy and Viola (Dave) Eaton; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Horace and Alice Shoemaker.

Visitation will befrom 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home – Wayland Chapel, 312 N Main St. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home Thursday Dec. 20 with visitation prior from 10 to 10:45.

In honor of Merle and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger.
