Steven Mollema, age 70, of Wayland, died Saturday, May 4, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Steve served his country in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Wayland Union High School and Ferris State University. He enjoyed traveling, camping in his motor home and riding on his Harley-Davidson. He especially enjoyed and loved his grandchildren; he loved attending their activities and events whenever possible.

Steven is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sandy; children, Jonathan (Allie) Mollema, Danielle (Joel) Hoevenaar, Deanne Mollema (Chris Mull); grandchildren, Hannah and Logan Hoevenaar and Evelyn Mollema; mother, Cora “Karen” Henning; his beloved dog, Lexi; brothers-in-law, Duane Potter (Michael Helser) and Ron (Valerie) Potter; step-sister, Joanne (Lyle) Carpenter; step-brother-in-law, Duane Klunder; step-sister-in-law, Martha Henning; and special friends, Bill and Rita Martin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Mollema.

The family will greet visitors from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St., Cutlerville.  The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, at Corinth Reformed Church, 129 – 100th St. SE.
