
Zada Carolyn LaCourse, 83, of Hopkins, died Sunday, Feb. 22, in Dorr.
Born July 18, 1942 in DeWitt, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Leonard Andrew and Elise (Pogue) Griffie and was the wife of the late Lyle LaCourse. Zada was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They especially enjoyed when she baked one of her delicious pecan pies to share with them!
Zada had been actively involved with the local 4-H Clubs throughout the years where she was able to share her time and talent in crocheting, basketweaving, gardening and ceramics with many of the youth in the area.
Zada is survived by her children, Carol LaCourse, David (Michelle) LaCourse and Raymond (Teresa) Babbitt; sisters, Alice (Don) Moore and Leona Brown; grandchildren, Quinn Steffens, Lyle (Greta) Krumm, Andrew (Cindy) LaCourse, Megan LaCourse, Jacob Smith and Daniel Smith; and great-grandchildren, Landen Smith, Aidan Smith, Amelia LaCourse, Valerie LaCourse, Lyla Steffens, Melvin Krumm and Maryannrose Krumm.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Smith; grandson, Jedidiah Smith; and sisters, Doris Uramkin, Emma Rhoderick, Bonnie Babbitt, Linda Wade and Rita Griffie.
The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 26. A funeral will begin at noon
Zada will be laid to rest in Miner Cemetery immediately following.
