Funeral Tuesday for 4th generation dairy farmer Marvin Alflen

56bf768597c37Marvin J. Alflen, age 62, of Jamestown Township, died Friday, Feb. 12.

Marvin was the fourth generation dairy farmer working the land on a Centennial Farm in Jamestown Township. He loved his family and made a great number of friends.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Diane Alflen; children Kelly (Aaron) DeBlaey, Tyler Alflen; sisters Shirley (Robert) Canfield, Mary Lou (Frank) Rybiski, Carole (Steve) Weber; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Julius and Evelyn Alflen.

Visitation with the family will be held from2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at Cook Funeral Home – 2067 84th Street, Byron Center. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at St. Mary’s Visitation Catholic Church, 2459 146th Ave, Byron Center. Father Chuck Fischer will officiate. Interment will be at Visitation Cemetery.
