Lloyd Selvig, age 74, died Friday, May 4.

Lloyd was an outdoorsman, Boy Scout leader, and little league coach. He served in the United States Air Force for 22 years and visited over 100 countries. He was a member of the West MI Veterans Assistance program.

He survived by his children, Al (Denise) Selvig and Brad (Barb) Selvig; step-sons, Mike (Tammy) Sakon and Tim Sakon; siblings, Marie Baxter, Pearl Trojanowski, Diane Boyles, David Selvig, and Daryl Selvig; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; parents, Sylvester and Isabella Selvig; step-son, Ben Sakon; and sister, Karen Edema.

His funeral will be noon Tuesday, May 8, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, 4330 18th St, Dorr, with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor Adam Porter will be officiating.

In honor of Lloyd, and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West Michigan Veterans Assistance program.

A great man and great American who went above and beyond what his nation asked him to do, serving for 22 years.
