David Leon Hoffman, 54, of photo_20151031_WM0052191_0_david_hoffman_20151031Shelbyville, died in a traffic crash Thursday, Oct. 29, while operating the semi-truck he loved in Grant County Indiana.
He was born July 31, 1961, in Beaverdam, Mich., to Delbert and Janice Hoffman. Dave attended Hudsonville High School and graduated in 1979. He resided in Shelbyville, Michigan with his wife, Michelle, and sons, Joseph and Christopher, where they are active members of Martin Reformed Church.
Dave was known for his unrelenting and tireless work ethic and selfless nature. He owned Blossom Acres Trucking LLC, an unsurprisingly successful grain hauling business, fueled by his love and knowledge of all things farming.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Hoffman; his son, Joseph Hoffman; his step-children, Noah Damber, Ben Striegle, Jessica Parm, and Christopher Kincaid; his eight step-grandchildren; his parents, Delbert and Janice Hoffman; his siblings, Dan Hoffman, Deb Bussis.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at the Martin Reformed Church, 1073 W Allegan St., Martin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Martin Reformed Church. Interment Beaverdam Cemetery.
