Mary Brunink, age 57, died Friday, June 22.

Mary loved to read and cook. A 1979 Hopkins High School graduate, she spent many years working at Calvin College. Mary was a kind soul who always helped others. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.

She is survived by her children Nicole (Andrew) Quinn, Thomas Brunink; grandchildren Jonathan, Ava, Hunter; siblings Rose (Bob) Zerfas, Herb Hazen; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Hazen and Sharon Ambrose (Hazen) and brother Irwin Hazen.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 25, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home – Wayland Chapel, 312 N. Main St. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home Wayland Chapel, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery.

In honor of Mary and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Open Arms Child Advocacy Center.
