Mark Allen Hazen, 58, of Allegan, died Saturday, July 2, at Allegan General Hospital.
He was born Feb. 13, 1958, in Allegan, the son of Jerry and Alice (McCullough) Hazen. He was a Hopkins High School Class of 1976 graduate.
Mark was a truck driver for the Byron Oil Co. in Byron Center for over the past 8 years. In his free time, he loved to go golfing with his buddies and spend time with his family and friends. He also had a passion for Farmall tractors and trains. In life, Mark was a giving and caring man. In death, Mark carried over that spirit by giving the Gift of Life to others so that they may live.
Mark is survived by his three children: Matt and Jessica Hazen, Paul and Marsha Hazen and Sara (Hazen) VanSingel; his special friend, Janet Renkema; seven grandchildren: Carter, Quin, Lyndon, Matthew, Christopher, Londyn, and Colton; his parents, Jerry and Alice Hazen; his sister, Deborah Ruthruff; two nephews: Jeremy and Luke; one niece, Mandy; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tracy; his son-in-law, Brian VanSingel; and his stepson, Jacob Hazen.
Friends may meet with the family at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, and from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, July 8. The Celebration of Life ceremony will be held there at 1 p.m. with Comer Skinner officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Township.
Following the Celebration of Life, family and friends are invited to the home of Jamie and Marlene Schaendorf (2977 132nd Ave., Hopkins, MI 49328) to continue sharing stories about Mark and celebrating his life.
