David Mark Dykstra, age 52, of Portage, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Rose Arbor Hospice Home after a two-year courageous battle with cancer.
Dave was a 1981 graduate of Wayland High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marines. He worked as a maintenance tech and shift leader at Perrigo and as an industrial electrician/mechanic at Johnson-Control.
Dave is survived by his wife Sara Dykstra; his children Chloe and Isaiah; his mother Janice Dysktra; his brothers and sisters: Todd (Priscilla) Dykstra, Barry (Angela) Dykstra, and Rebecca (Paul) Commons; several nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law Jane Robbins and father-in-law David (Vickie) DeMaagd.
He was preceded in death by his father David J. Dykstra.
Friends may visit with Dave’s family from noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, Dorr. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Dorr with Pastor Richard Helderop officiating. Private interment will follow at Burnips Cemetery.
