Funeral planned for Friday for Ed Miner, 76

Edward “Ed” Bruce Miner, age 76, died Saturday, Oct. 4.

Ed was born Jan. 10, 1949, in Plainwell, to Edward and Bertha (Standish) Miner.

He married Diana (nee Fair) on Oct. 21, 1967. They shared 57 years together. Ed was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who cherished his family deeply. He found great joy in the simple things—spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; children Edward B. Miner Jr. and Sonya (Tom) Elliott; grandchildren Samantha (Michael) Veenstra and Jennifer (Cody) Williams; great-granddaughter, Scarlett; and a great-grandson on the way.

He is also survived by his brother, Dennis (Roxie) Miner and sister-in-law, Audrey Miner; uncle, Bob (Sue) Standish; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenneth Miner.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services (Wayland Chapel), 312 N. Main St. A funeral celebrating Ed’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services (Wayland Chapel), with visitation one hour prior to the service.

In memory of Ed and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wayland Area Emergency Medical Service or a charity of one’s choosing.
