Margie Calkins-Hines, age 95, died Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Margie loved residing at her beloved farm near Hopkinsburg for more than 65 years. She had a contagious laugh, love for travel, zest for life, and had a huge love for her family, friends and especially God.

She is survived by her children Barbara Jeffers, Daniel (Barb) Calkins, Teresa (Tim) Permoda, Shirley (Jim) Graham; grandchildren Kristy Calkins, Keith (Kelli) Calkins, Jennifer (Jeff) Hudson, Joshua (Jessica) Permoda, Jordan (MaryBeth) Permoda, Hailey (Patrick) Kane, Austin (Kelsey) Graham; 13 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Larry and Joy DeBruyne and Phil and Sonya Hines; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Max D. Calkins; second husband, Richard M. Hines; grandsons Brian Greenawalt and Kevin Calkins; and son-in-law, James “Jim” Jeffers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Martin Reformed Church, 1073 W. Allegan St., Martin, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Margie will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery.
