Sophie Baweja, age 94, died Wednesday, June 26.

Sophie was a member of St. Therese Church and the VFW Auxilliary, where she volunteered her time for many years. Sophie retired from Bradford White Corporation after 19 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Rose (Cal) Brower, Hank Baweja, Tony (Mary) Baweja, Ray Baweja, Ed (Cathy) Baweja, Ruth Baweja; daughter-in-law Linda Baweja; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Valentine “Bill” Baweja; son, Valentine J. “Bill” Baweja; daughter-in-law, Eileen Baweja; special friends, Ruth Belka and Marie Hall.

Visitation with the family will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, June 30, with a Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N Main St., Wayland. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 128 Cedar St., Wayland with Father Alphonse Savarimuth presiding.

Interment will be at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.

In honor of Sophie, contributions may be made to St. Therese Catholic Church and Wayland VFW Woman’s Auxiliary.
