Karen Joy Diekevers (Remelts), age 79, of Dorr, died Friday, Jan. 19.

Karen loved spending time with her family, knitting, crocheting and traveling.

Karen is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gordan; children, Doug Diekevers, Julie Diekevers, Mike (Stacey) Diekevers; grandchildren, Katie Dekker, Doug Diekevers, Jr. (Anastasia Banks), Abby (Tyler) Whitmire, Ridge (Jess) Cremeans, Cody (Heather) Cremeans, Lexi (Dylan) Martin, Steven Meza, Lauren Meza (Nana), Colton Diekevers, Gage Diekevers, Koert Diekevers, Nash (Mia) Diekevers, nine great grandchildren; sisters, Rosemary (Jim) Nettenstrom, Bonnie (Burt) Houseman; brother-in-law, Steve Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheri; parents, John and May Remelts; and sister, Gayla Taylor.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at Stroo Funeral Home; and on Monday, Jan. 22, at Second Byron Center CRC, 7588 Byron Center Ave. SW, from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at 11 a.m., Rev. Rick Vanderwal officiating. Interment will be in Dorr Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Byron Center CRC Benevolent Fund.
