Linda Kay Truax Thompson of Salem Township, died Wednesday, June 17. Born on Sept. 29, 1954, in Allegan, she was 65.

She was the daughter of the late Howard and Violet Marie (Brenner) Truax, Jr. and was the wife of Kenneth Thompson. Linda was an avid gardener who also loved crafting of any kind. She also liked to go mushroom hunting every year. Linda was a fan of horse racing, though mostly because she enjoyed throwing derby parties!

She was a huge fan of Wizard of Oz and had amassed a collection of memorabilia over the years. Linda always looked out for the needs of others before she took care of herself. Her kindness and generosity were felt by many..

Linda is survived by her children, Barry (Mindi) Thompson and Kristy Burch; her brother, Ron (Cindy) Truax; grandchildren, Duane M. Thompson, Terrance Hightower and Brody Nyhoff; nephew, Little Ronnie and Tara Truax; several stepbrothers and stepsisters; and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Corey Thompson; her brother, Duane Wiley; her niece, Kelli Blackman; and her fur baby, Missy Puppy.

Her visitation and funeral will be at Gordon Funeral Home in Hopkins Tuesday, June 23. Visitation is from 9 to 10 for immediate family, then from 10 a.m. to noon for everyone, with funeral at noon. Interment will follow at Salem Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice; 530 Linn Street, Allegan, MI 49010.

After graveside services, luncheon will be served at the Salem Township Hall in Burnips from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
