Christian “Chris” Vanden Berg, age 99, of Dorr, died Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Chris proudly served in the US Navy during World War II.

He is survived by his children, Allan (Hermena) Vanden Berg, Robert P. (Marie) Vanden Berg, Ruth (Carl) Clevenger, Marge Palmerlee; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Joann Bazuin; sister-in-law, Tressa Vanden Berg; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena; three brothers and two sisters.

The family will greet visitors from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St., Cutlerville, and Saturday prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.The funeral will at 11 am Saturday, Dec. 16, at Moline Christian Reformed Church, 4341 Chappell St., with Rev. Jim DeZeeuw and Rev. Brian Kyle officiating. Interment in Dorr Cemetery.
