Barbara Elaine (Hunter) Turner, age 89, died Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Barbara never met a stranger. She had a heart for others, befriending people with whom she came into contact. As a homemaker, she cherished her family by creating a warm and inviting home for them. She loved the Lord and was very active in her church and in the church choir.

She is survived by her daughters Sheri (Jim) Schooley, Debra Elaine (Ash) Abou-El-Seoud, Bianca “Dee” Carrow, Susan Sinclair; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters Bea (Paul) Blomquist, Yvonne (John) Bice, Trish (Sam) Davis; and many extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Turner; son, Little Les Turner; parents Clifford and Evelyn Hunter; granddaughter, Michele Schooley; son-in-law, Tom Sinclair; sisters Beverly LaVoy, Shirley Bruckner; and brother, Ben Hunter.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 4330 18th St., Dorr.

In memory of Barbara and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Humane Society of West Michigan
