Edna Mae Johnson, 82 of Caledonia, died Thursday, Oct. 3.

Edna was very creative, she liked to make outfits, mittens and blankets for her grandchildren. She was well known for making Christmas reindeer, which were often requested by her customers when she was a teller at Fifth Third Bank. Edna was an excellent accordion player and pianist, she played for her church for many years. She also played in the accordion band at many venues, including the DeVos Performance Hall.

She passed her love of music on to her grandchildren and they performed together at churches for special music.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Owen Johnson, her children, Sherri Johnson, James (Kathy) Johnson, Jack (Celena) Johnson, grandchildren David (Jessica) Johnson, Holly (Sam) Fearnow, Michael Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Jena (Tim) Keckler, AJ Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Nolan (fiancé Kaitlyn) Johnson, Teelamae Johnson and Teaera Johnson; five great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Louise Wood.

She was preceded in death by her little sister, Linda Bivins and her brother, Bob Bredeweg.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 Main St., Wayland with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday.
