Josiah Leonard Brown, 22, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, Aug. 10.

Born July 15, 1997 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Richard James “Jim” Brown, Jr. and Jennie Angeline (Church) Brown. Josiah had many hobbies and interests, including hunting, fishing and swimming. He liked to go off-roading and play video games.

Josiah also excelled in basketball and loved playing volleyball. He was a great cook and an award-winning basket maker. He was a talented musician and played bass guitar in the band KleenSL8.

Besides his parents, Josiah is survived by his siblings, Joshua (Melanie) Brown, Jacob (Valerie) Brown and Jamie (Michael) Chapman; nieces and nephews, Cadence, Reuben, Judah, Isabel, Ivy, Isaac, Iris and William; and his girlfriend, Tabitha Bowron.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Mary Church; Richard Brown and Gloria Brown Meendering.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14,  at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. The funeral will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Camp Jijak, 2558 20th St., Hopkins.
