Betty Sue Chapin, age 73 of Dorr, died Saturday, Aug. 3, after a long battle with cancer.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicky; grandchildren Stacey (Steve), Joshua (Sarah), Trenton, Justin; great-grandchildren Lydia, Derek, Alayna, Wyatt, Marlayna, Briley, Skyla; stepfather, John; siblings Frances, Leroy, Grace, David, Robin (Monica); several nieces and nephews; and her Taylor Rental family.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jan; parents Clyde and Sylvia; sisters Joann, Ginger, Shirley; and brother, Gordon.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her family – especially with her grand and great-grandchildren. She retired from Taylor Rental in Holland, after 37 years, in 2019.

She enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, caring for her pets, listening to Elvis Presley, crocheting, sewing, and gardening. She also enjoyed watching Dr. Phil, Steve Wilkos, the Game Show Network, and up until her last few weeks of life, she never missed an episode of General Hospital.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 4330 18th St., Dorr. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice – Trillium Woods.
