Morris “Morrie” L. Holloway, 81, died Saturday, May 19.

He served in the U.S. Army. Morrie enjoyed car racing, photography, his motorcycle, target shooting, camping, and spending the winter in Arizona.

He is survived by his wife of 59+ years, Myrna; children, Mark (Amy) Holloway, Wendy Geil; grandchildren, Erica Holloway, Mark (Jordan) Holloway Jr., Makayla Holloway, Connor Geil, Celeste Geil; two great grandchildren, Micah Holloway, Hugh Geil; brothers, Mel (Kim) Holloway, Dale (Jan) Holloway; sister, Jean (Larry) Hoff; brothers-in-law, Paul (Joyce) Blakeslee, Dennis (Vickie) Blakeslee; sister-in-law, Iyla Sjoberg; many nieces and nephews; and his cat, Punkin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Thelma Holloway; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis (Marv) Corner; brother-in-law, Jim Sjoberg; and nephew, Andrew Corner.

The family will greet visitors from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St., Cutlerville. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at Carlisle United Methodist Church, 1084 76th St., SW; with Pastor Gary Zinger officiating.

One item on Morris’s bucket list was to ride the new elevator at church, so in lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Morrie can be made to the Carlisle Church Elevator Fund.
