Albert H. Medendorp, age 82, of Shelbyville, died Friday, March 3 at home.

Albert loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. Albert served in the US Army. He was considered the best celery farmer in West Michigan, working for Van Solkema Farms, DeBruyn Farms, and Cnossen Farms. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends.

Albert is survived his wife of 57 years, Linda Medendorp (Luyk); his daughters, Debra and Allan Edwards, Sherry and Mike Steffen, Evelyn and Jim Jarosch, Jean and David Mejeur;  grandchildren Nicole Edwards, Heather Edwards, Matthew Steffen, Andrew Steffen, Shannon and Greg Herrema, Danelle Jarosch, Kenneth Mejeur, Jennifer Mejeur; his great-grandchildren, Jaxon Radke, Ryder Radke, Nicholas Steffen, Jadyn Jarosch, Teagan Herrema; his siblings, Gale Jameson, Karen and Roland Zwerger, Hilbert and Reggie Medendorp, Cornelius “Bill” and Gloria Medendorp; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Reka Medendorp; his siblings, Evelyn Culver, Raymond “Butch” Medendorp.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services in Wayland, 312 N. Main St. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at Dorr Christian Reformed Church, 4220 18th St. Interment will be at East Martin Cemetery.
