Wray Earl Ertle, 93, of Hopkins, died Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at his home.

Born Jan. 11, 1931 in Bloomingdale, he was the son of the late Virgil Earl and Katherine (Wray) Ertle and was the husband of Linda Carol (Peake) Ertle with whom he shared 49 years of marriage and 52 years of memories together.

Wray was retired from the United States Army National Guard as a Sergeant Major and later went to work for Pridgeon & Clay. When not working, spending time on his farm was one of his greatest passions.

Besides his wife, Wray is survived by many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and his brother, Floyd (Janice) Ertle.  He was preceded in death by his parents, children, Wray E. Ertle, Jr., April Joy Shea, and his infant daughter, Hazel; and his brother, David Ertle.

The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, July 5, when a funeral will begin. Entombment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery, Grand Rapids, with military honors at 2 p.m.
