Grandma’s Recipe Box: From Robin Hood Flour

Robin Hood Flour recipes were a staple for many kitchens back in the day.

A variety of sauces may be made using this basic recipe. For example:

Add 1/2 cup grated cheese to medium white sauce to make macaroni and cheese.

Cook macaroni according to package directions than drain.

Add cheese sauce to noodles and place into greased casserole.

Bake covered in a slow oven (325 degrees) for 30 minutes.

Take cover off and sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Place back in oven for 10 minutes uncovered.

Grandma used to use the same sauce to make creamed peas. She would add a pinch of chicken bouillon to the white sauce, than add a large can of drained peas.

Enjoy, the possibilities are endless.
