Junior Allen Long, 80, of Sandy Pines, died Sunday, April 29, at Providence Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services in Zeeland.

Mr. Long was born October 9, 1937, in Tennessee, the son of the late Claud and Daisy Odean (Conley) Long and was the husband of the late Anna May Long. He was the foreman at Pet Life Foods in Hamilton for many years. He also thoroughly enjoyed being his own boss by refurbishing and selling used automobiles.

It was because of this that spending time at his place in Sandy Pines and going golfing were among his favorite pastimes.

He is survived by his children, Steve and Vicki Long, Ron and Becky Long, June and Mike VanderKamp, Shelly and Troy Miller and Jerry and Amy Long; 22 grandchildren; and more than 30 great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Roger Long; and his siblings, Geraldine Kuhn and Jerry Long.

The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 3. A graveside memorial service will take place the following day, Friday, May 4, at Salem Township Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Holland, 270 Hoover Blvd., Holland, MI 49423.
