Graveside service July 10 for Maynard Brenner

Maynard Leroy Brenner age 82, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud veteran who served our nation died July 4, leaving a legacy of courage and patriotism on a poignant day of independence.

He was born on April 26,1943, in Plainwell. Maynard’s family and friends remember him as a warm, loving and supportive person who could fix anything.

Maynard was important in his community; he worked at Pet Milk/Dean Foods for 40 years. Maynard loved his cars; he was a member of the Wayland Classic Car Club, and he had a ’63 Chevy SuperSport he enjoyed restoring and driving.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years Jenny, children Lori (James) Woonacott, Michael (Kerry) Brenner, Susan (John) Kleinbrink; grandchildren Joseph, Matthew, Ashlee, Zackary, Samantha, Thomas, Samuel, William, Jonathan, Nicholas, Megan, and Cade. Maynardalso leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Haylee, Jacob, Grayson, and another expected in October, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents Paul and Marian Brenner, his brother Roger Brenner, brother-in-law Stanley Zygadlo, and his parents-in-law Aleksander and Olga Zygadlo.

Visitation with friends and family will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home – Wayland Chapel, 312 N. Main St. A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at Elmwood Cemetery in Wayland Township.

In memory of Maynard and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
