Harry D. Hicks died Monday, May 4, at his home in Martin. He was 83.

He was born April 7, 1937, the son of Evington and Rita (Wiggins) Hicks. Harry was a truck driver for Bender/Loudon for more than 30 years and had worked at ForeWay for several years. In his spare time he enjoyed oil painting, golfing, fishing especially from the pier in South Haven, gardening and playing softball and baseball in his younger years.

Surviving are his children Terri (Dan) Lott of Martin, Becky Predum Hicks of Plainwell, Dan (Renae) Hicks of Virginia and Diana Krogmann of Wayland; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Sheila Hicks and nephew David M. Hicks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son in 1962 and brother, David A. Hicks.

A private graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell.
