Sam R. Pearson of Dorr died Sunday, Nov. 15, at his home. He was 60 years old.

He was born Oct. 28, 1960, in Kalamazoo the son of William and Reba (Root) Pearson. Sam graduated from Otsego High School in 1978 and went on to earn a degree in biology from Michigan Tech. He was employed at Evans Tempcon in Grand Rapids for 19 years.

In his spare time Sam enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid football fan of U of M and the Detroit Lions. On Feb. 13, 2009, he married Mary Kelley, who survives.

Also surviving are his daughters, Erica (Mike) DeGraaf and Tara Pearson; step-children, Kelsey (Ryne) Clark and Glenn Knauss; grandchildren, Breslyn, Korinne, Caleb and Zoe; his father, William, and brother, David (Judy) Pearson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Reba in 2019. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Alamo Center Cemetery with Pastor Matt Bistayi officiating.
