ervice with military honors will be held at Dorr Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, for Bert John Wiersma, age 89, a long-time resident of Dorr.Wiersma died Aug. 14, 2016, in Maryville, TN. He was born in Byron Center to Fred and Emma Wiersma.
He is survived by his brother, Jack (Bernadine) Wiersma; daughter Kimberly (Robert) Cook, daughter Cheryl (David) Purcell, grandson Jason Dale; son Howard Wiersma; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Arlene; and three brothers.
Following his wishes, he has been cremated.
