The Gun Lake Casino in Wayland Township is observing its 15th anniversary with a promotional opportunity for guests of the casino and hotel resort.
Two winners each week this month will be granted $100 in free slot play, redeemable every week, for the next 15 years.
“We are very proud to reach 15 great years of operation, and to celebrate we are awarding free slot play to two lucky winners each week in February, who will each get $100 of freeslot play every week for the next 15 years,” said Brian Decorah, senior vice president/general manager. “Since opening, the casino has shared $207 million in revenue with the state and local community.
Gun Lake Casino opened late in the evening of Feb. 10, 2011, when a massive crowd of casino-goers first walked into the building. Traffic was backed up from the property entrance all the way down the northbound and southbound exit ramps causing a traffic jam on both sides of U.S.-131.
The Gun Lake Tribe fought for over a decade to clear legal and political hurdles to make the casino a reality.The casino and resort have evolved over the years under several sizable expansions most recently the grand opening of the 16-story luxury hotel tower, full-service spa, new dining options, and meeting and event space. Also added was a glass atrium that houses more than 32,000 square feet with live palm trees, over 4,000 tropical plants.
An aquatic entertainment complex features adult and family pool areas, private cabanas andfood and beverage service, and a venue for live concerts and entertainment.
