Allegan County Emergency personnel are warning about prospects for severe weather Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Risks for storms

– Best chance for storms and severe weather will occur Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night.

– All of the southwest quarter of Lower Michigan is in the risk area for severe weather.

– Main threats: Damaging winds, large hail and locally heavy rain/flooding.

– Low chance for storms late tonight into Tuesday morning.

– Additional storms possible on Wednesday.

Heat Risk

– Heat index values will peak on Tuesday, reaching the 100 to 105 degree range.

– A few locations may see heat index values exceed 105 Tuesday.

– All of the southwest quarter of Lower Michigan is at risk for heat concerns.

– Lows remaining in the 70s Monday night and Tuesday night will not allow for a reprieve from the heat.

– Cooler air gradually filters into the region for mid to late week (Wednesday through Friday).
