The “Hopkins Got Talent” competition scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, has been canceled.
Contest Director Jacob Oaster sent a district-wide e-mail stating, “Unfortunately, due to low turnout (of registrations) this year, the Hopkins Vocal Music Boosters (the group that hosts HGT) have regrettably decided to cancel the competition. There ended up being less than the required number of acts to hold the show this year.”
He said the Vocal Music Boosters are returning all Hopkins Got Talent registration forms and fees that were submitted this year.
Those who submitted a registration are asked to pick it back up between in the Hopkins Middle School Office.
Oaster added, “We are sorry we can not hold the competition this year, but with this event doubling as a district/Vocal Music Dept. Fundraiser (as well as just a cool show/experience), it is important for the numbers to make sense with the amount of effort that is put into the competition and its planning…etc.”
