Hopkins grad serves on panel with Gov. Whitmer

Susan Wakefield

Hopkins High School graduate Susan Wakefield recently served on a special MLive citizens’ panel to discuss issues witrh Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. She served along with David Groenleer, who worked as a traffic engineer and director of engineering at the Kent County Road Commission for 35 years, and Candice Crutcher, a senior studying political science and history at Eastern Michigan University, where she serves as student body president. Wakefield, who worked in public education for 30 years and is now the owner of Wakefield Consulting LLC, is a 1977 Hopkins High School graduate and was an assistant principal at Wayland High High School from 1999 to 2002 and retired a few years ago as superintendent of Plainwell Schools.
