Hopkins grad Stacy Gilbert dies at home in Tennessee

Hopkins High School graduate Stacy Daneen Gilbert, 56, died unexpectedly at her home in Tazewell, TN, Friday, April 16.

Stacy was born on May 24, 1964, to Roger and Sharon VanWormer.  She graduated from Hopkins High School, Class of 1982. She lived in Dorr and Allegan, working at Tiara Yachts, and later moved to Tazewell.  Stacy loved and was loved by her co-worker friends at England Furniture in New Tazewell.

Stacy had many good friends who remember her sense of humor and sarcasm. She enjoyed spending time with her kids, watching movies, and listening to Metallica.

She is survived by her children, Ricky (Melissa) Gilbert of Allegan, James Gilbert of Allegan, Ken (Aimee) TerMeer of Allegan, Jeremy Thompson of Allegan, Dale Oisten and Kristen Oisten of Tazewell, TN; four grandchildren, Caydence and Kyler Gilbert, and Landen and Alaina TerMeer and baby boy TerMeer due in August. Stacy also leaves behind her sister Kim Bush (Ken Hunter) of Freeport and brother Roger VanWormer (Robin) of Howard City.  She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and her special fur baby, Cow.

Stacy was preceded in death by her parents, Roger VanWormer and Sharon Moran.

A memorial will be scheduled at a later date.
