
The Hopkins High School boys’ cross-country squad followed a season-long tradition Wednesday by taking second in the team standings and second individually in the O-K Silver Conference meet.
The Vikings were runners-up in the six-team field with 46 points, four away from NorthPointe Christian in first. And true to form, Jack Estelle took second in the individual race at 16:21.36.
Sophomore teammate Kash Moored checked in fourth at 16:35.8. Sophomore Grady Johnston sneaked into seventh with a time of 17:03.46. Sophomore Nicholas Jablonski was 17th in 18:23.95 and freshman Logan Kipen finished 24th in 19:21.91.
The Lady Vikings settled for fourth place among the six teams, scoring 97 points. Calvin Christian won with 37.
Allison Breining captured ninth place in 20:46.44, followed by teammates freshman Izabella Jordan in 17th, Lillian Dewey 21st, Grace Schumacher 23rd and freshman Lachlan Merren 27th.
