Hopkins High School graduate Gale Lynn (Bregg) Brown, 65, of Kentwood, died Wednesday, Sept. 15.

She was born on April 28, 1956, in Grand Rapids, to the late Ambrose & Ruth (Davis) Bregg.

Gale worked for more than 30 years at ADAC Automotive, making many friends along the way. She had a very giving heart and made contributions religiously to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and Boystown. She enjoyed summer family picnics, the Bregg family Christmas party, birthday parties and many other family gatherings.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, John Brown; brother, Billy (Katrina) Bregg; sisters, Betsy (Chris) Genther, Sloane (Henry) Steffes; sister-in-law, Theresa Bregg; step-daughter, Jennifer (Jesse) Meachum; and grandchildren, Jesse and Rachel.  Gale’s motherly attributes will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was close to her cousin, Roger Bregg, whom she would have precious conversations and updates about the extended family that lived up north.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jeffery (Diane) and Ambrose; and her sister, Brenda Stevenson.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date and announced as soon as details become available.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are appreciated to help cover expenses.
