The Hopkins community will have a going away party for retiring Schools Supt. Gary Wood from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at 400 Clark St.

Wood earlier this year announced he is retiring from the education field after serving 37 years, the last nine as the chief of Hopkins Public Schools, coming from Mid AuSable.

The celebration will include pickle ball and refreshments, and an opportunity to wish Wood well.
